Jack Mwiimbu, the minister of home affairs and internal security, has expressed his satisfaction with the Zambia Correctional Service (ZCS) for their commitment to farming in order to increase food security in the nation.

According to ZANIS, Mr. MWIIMBU urged the ZCS Command to focus on raising maize seed, which he claimed was more profitable than selling regular corn.

According to the minister, the ZCS’s mechanized farming can feed the entire nation.

After visiting the Mukuyu ZCS farm in Kabwe as part of his familiarization trip of the departments under his supervision to understand the difficulties they are facing, Mr. Mwiimbu made this statement.

Reuben Mwango, the assistant manager of Mukuyu Farm, also said that the farm’s 300 hectares have been planted with a variety of crops, including 150 hectares of soya seed and 50 hectares of seed maize, with hopes of a bumper yield.

The farm includes six completely functional center pivots, according to Mr. Mwango.
