SADC Accreditation For ZABS

The Southern African Development Community Accreditation Service (SADCAS) has granted accreditation to the Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS).

According to JOHN MULONGOTI, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry, ZABS’ accreditation status proves its ability to provide trustworthy services that adhere to high international standards.

According to Mr. MULONGOTI, this will put ZABS in a better position to expand its certification services and boost consumer confidence in Zambian goods and services both locally and internationally.

During the accreditation handover event in Lusaka, he said this.

In the meantime, NATHAN SING’AMBWA, the acting executive director of the Zambia Bureau of Standards-ZABS, stated that the organization undertook the certification process in an effort to strengthen the integrity of local goods and services.

Addressing at the same ceremony, SADCAS Executive Director EVE GADZIKWA praised ZABS for becoming the first certifying body in the nation to receive accreditation from SADCAS and gave the organization’s backing if necessary.
