The girl of the moment, South African singer, Tyla Laura Seethal was born and raised in Johannesburg.

She was born on the 30th of January, 2002; she matriculated from Edenglen High School in 2019.

In late 2019, Tyla released her debut single, Getting Late featuring production from Kooldrink; it was a success, and she got signed to Epic Records through a joint venture with Fax Records in the United States.

The music video has surpassed 3 million views on YouTube and it tops the YouTube trend list.

On TikTok’s official Viral 50 chart, the song sits at number nine, this was propelled by her challenge on the app.


The hashtags #TylaWater and #TylaWaterChallenge have over 448.6 million views combined.

The song has returned to its highest peak of No.#37 on the global Spotify chart with 2.22 MILLION streams.

It remains the only Song released in 2023 by an African artist to receive over 2 Million daily global streams.

The hit song has officially debuted at No. #67 on the US Billboard Hot 100; She’s the first South African Soloist in 55 years since Hugh Masekela’s Grazing in the Grass to make an entry.

Tyla has over 1 million followers on Instagram, with over 45000 on Twitter.

Speaking about her love life, Laura is private about that, including her family; she’s more focused on promoting her music career.
