By the end of the year, all districts will have 120 automatic weather stations built by the Ministry of Green Economy and Environment.
The stations were purchased for $3.8 million thanks to World Bank assistance.
According to JOHN MSIMUKO, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Green Economy, the ministry would start placing the stations this quarter and complete them all by the end of the year in all 116 districts.
The inclusion of the weather stations, according to Mr. MSIMUKO, will ensure that weather information is communicated more efficiently.
The country now only has 60 districts covered by 118 manual weather stations and 42 automatic weather stations, he told ZANIS in Lusaka.
