Comedian Tol Ass Mo – real name Mongezi Mahlangu – says his next girlfriend will not be a black woman. The TV personality – who is in the process of divorcing his wife of 11 years, Mome Mahlangu – dropped this bombshell during his sit-down with broadcaster DJ Fresh on his YouTube podcast show WAW What A Week on Friday, 21 July.
Speaking to the former 947 and Metro FM presenter, Tol Ass Mo revealed that he is the one who walked away from his marriage because he needs to heal from his traumas. The sangoma added that he is no longer interested in black women because they traumatise him.
“It’s me that’s walking away, Fresh… I am f**ken traumatised. I am traumatised by black women. I’m traumatised to a point that I don’t want to have a black wife again. I even said that in my interview that when I was making love to my wife I’d get flashbacks of this woman [Lerato Moloi’s] face in my mind.
The Bump The Cheese Up hitmaker further said that he does not know how he will heal or if he will ever love again. He added that he has made the decision to be celibate for 24 months and he is currently six months into his celibacy.
“If God grants me a second love, it’s gonna be a Caucasian woman, or something exotic… I wanna date a snowbunny. I wanna be with a woman who won’t bother me about culture and whatever else. I don’t want anything to do with a black woman,” he said.
In 2018, model and actress Lerato Moloi accused the comedian of raping her when they were working on a television production in Paarl, Western Cape. A statement released by Moloi in 2020 revealed that the incident took place in 2014.
Tol Ass Mo was acquitted of sexual assault in August 2022 and threatened to sue the model for slander and defamation as the court described her as “a dishonest, egotistical and a belligerent liar.
Speaking to MacG and Sol Phenduka on Podcast and Chill in December last year, Tol Ass Mo said that when Lerato was asked in court when the rape incident took place, she said 18 March in the evening. However, he had been on a flight back to Johannesburg from Cape Town that morning, according to a picture on his Instagram. Additionally, he said Lerato had told the court that they had been shooting the burger stack challenge for MasterChef SA on the day the incident happened.
“They’ve got a TV in the court so they played MasterChef. Episode one, I am there. Episode two, eliminated… the burger stack challenge was on episode five,” the comedian told the Podcast and Chill hosts, adding that episodes three to five were played and he was not on any of them. So, ‘Lerato [Moloi] who was the person that raped you if this person is clearly not there?’ Guess what this woman says? She says it could have been my dark aura,” Tol Ass Mo told MacG and Sol.
