Unveiling Of Grant As Chipolopolo Coach

Avram Grant, a former Chelsea coach, has been named the next head coach of the Chipolopolo.

GRANT, who succeeds ALIJOSA ASANOVIC, has been given a two-year contract with the possibility of an extension dependent on performance.

At his unveiling today in Lusaka, GRANT claimed that he has come to raise the level of football and that Zambia has the ability to win championships.

The players have a responsibility to perform for their country, according to the New Chipolopolo coach, who promised to expect hard effort and discipline from them.

The Israeli national also said that he had the capacity to deliver when questioned about his capacity to handle pressure.

And Football Association of Zambia President ANDREW KAMANGA stated that the Chipolopolo will reclaim their place among the best in African football with the arrival of the new Coach.

Given that GRANT is an experienced coach, KAMANGA expressed optimism that his arrival will ensure Chipolopolo resumes its winning ways and qualifies for the AFCON.

According to him, the FA’s responsibility is to reciprocate by achieving the necessary objectives with the government’s assistance in place.

And FAZ-General Secretary ADRIAN KASHALA stated that the FA was unable to publish the coach’s remuneration, adding that this would be done in due course as they have an agreement in place with the government.

The FA also stated that the coach is only allowed to bring one assistant because the rest of the technical bench would be filled locally.
