Tyla and Uncle Waffles do the ‘Water Dance’ challenge – Watch

South African singer, Tyla has broken records over the past weeks with her hit song, Water. She has gained millions of streams and fans through the song; it has also given her more prominence in various countries.


Some of the achievements recently recorded include:

  • The hashtags #TylaWater and #TylaWaterChallenge have over 448.6 million views combined.
  • The only song released in 2023 by an African artist to receive over 2 Million daily global streams.
  • The hit song has officially debuted at No. #67 on the US Billboard Hot 100; the first by a South African artist since 1968.
  • She has reached 10 Million Spotify monthly listeners
  • She performed the song on an international show, Bianca Show.

Amongst many people who have joined the ‘Tyla Water Challenge’ is one and only Uncle Waffles, real name, Lungelihle Zwane, a Swazi-born DJ and record producer based in Mzansi.
