ZAF officer Arrested in hit & run road traffic accident

After a hit-and-run car accident in which an unidentified individual died, a Zambia Air Force (ZAF) officer was apprehended.

This happened following a hit-and-run road traffic accident that resulted in the death of an unidentified male victim, between the ages of 25 and 30, from an unspecified residence.

According to police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, the event happened in Lusaka on February 10, 2023, at about 19:30 hours, near the Petroda Filling station on Twin Palm Road.

He claimed that after receiving information from concerned bystanders, police at Ibex Police Station were able to quickly transport the victim to the University Teaching Hospitals, where he was discovered to be dead.

After the accident, according to Mr. Mwale, investigations were started.

Later, the suspect, later identified as a Zambia Air Force officer named Lieutenant Colonel Elvin Mulwazi, 54, of Obama in the Chelstone district, was handed up to police by his employers, the man claimed.
