Zambia Currently On Track To Meet UN Sustainable Goal For Birth Registration

Zambia is on track to meet the 2030 Sustainable Development Goal of 100% birth registration, according to the United Nations.

However, in order for Zambia to more easily achieve the UN target, the government has been asked to use its national goal of 50% birth registration by 2026.

After inspecting CHIPATA Level Two Hospital in LUSAKA, Ms. MUTALI stated this in a conversation with journalists.

The country’s birth registration rate, according to Principal Registrar PETER MOYO of the Ministry of Home Affairs, is 14%.

Mr. MOYO has urged parents to participate in the activity in large numbers.

While this is going on, 700 births per month are being registered at CHIPATA Level Two Hospital, according to its medical director, Dr. MATA MATA.
