46 service-related couples have been paired up by the Local Government Service Commission and sent to various locations thus far.

This complies with the president’s order to reconcile married couples employed by the government, HAKAINDE HICHILEMA.

Out of the 1,075 applications his office received, according to Local Government Service Commission Chairperson ACKSON SEJANI, 46 married couples were selected.

He claims that the difficulty in actually recruiting personnel to replace them is what has caused the delay.

According to Mr. SEJANI, the local government service commission is collaborating with other commissions and civil service unions to ensure that the presidential directive is carried out in an efficient manner.

He has acknowledged that most of the applications are from people looking to move closer to their wives who live in Lusaka and the neighboring districts.
