In Kafula village in Kasama district, at least eight families were left without shelter when their homes were destroyed by torrential rains.
At the same location, damage has also been done to five stores and a church structure.
ZANIS conducted a check and discovered victims removing iron sheets and various home items from the debris.
BERNARD MPUNDU, the Permanent Secretary for the Northern Province, visited the region to inspect the damage and made a commitment that the government will step in.
According to Mr. MPUNDU, the government will give the impacted families tents and food supplies.
