The Plant Pests and Disease Act of 1958 is now being repealed and replaced by the government.
The Ministry of Agriculture’s Department of Plant Quarantine and Phytosanitary Services is in charge of the Procedure.
The modification of the Act, according to Southern Province Permanent Secretary NAMANI MOONZE, is anticipated to improve the protection of Zambia’s agricultural sector against the entry of new pests and illnesses.
As Dr. MONZE launched a consultation conference on the reform of the Act, he was speaking in the Southern province of Choma.
This was said in a speech that Southern Province Agricultural Planner, EVANS NKHOMA, read on his behalf.
