According to the Livingstone Tourist Association (LTA), for the Easter holidays that begin today, about 95% of rooms in the tourist hub have been reserved.
The majority of the 6,000 bed places are already reserved for Easter, according to acting LTA Chairman Hilary Kashempa.
In an interview with ZNBC news, Mr. KASHEMPA stated that due to hurried reservations, available beds might already be taken.
He claimed that the demand for accommodations over the Easter weekend is another sign that the city’s tourism industry has to make additional expenditures.
Mr. KASHEMPA stated that domestic travelers often dominate the Easter holiday and thanked Zambians for their support of the sector.
In order to entice visitors to remain a while, Tourism Minister RODNEY SIKUMBA says there is a need to boost tourism in Livingstone and around the nation.
According to Mr. SIKUMBA, visitors will stay in the nation longer if there are more tourism-related activities available.
At the Livingstone International Culture and Arts Festival, he was speaking (LICAF).
M. SIKUMBA has since ordered that the festival be held for one week the following year to allow for the display of a range of cultural events.
