The recently established Mosi-Oa-Tunya Livingstone Resort’s management has received praise from the Livingstone Tourism Association (LTA) for hiring more than 80% of the hotel’s local workforce.
The decision to involve locals, according to LTA Acting Chairperson Hilary Kashempa, has helped to lower unemployment rates in the district, where many people lost their jobs due to the Covid 19 outbreak.
He claims that the hotel’s operator, Radisson Blu, has kept its promise to hire locals, and the organization is pleased.
And according to WELLINGTON MPOFU, the commercial director for the Radisson Blu Cluster, 85% of the hotel workers employed for the soft opening are locals.
As soon as the hotel is fully operational early next year, according to Mr. MPOFU, the number will probably rise.
