Al Ahly of Egypt try to get a Real Madrid contract

The Egyptian team will “certainly offer all,” according to Al Ahly midfielder Mohamed Afsha, as they get ready to play Real Madrid, the defending Club World Cup champions, in Morocco on Wednesday.

The Red Devils defeated the Seattle Sounders 1-0 on Saturday to advance to a difficult matchup against the four-time champions. Afsha’s deflected shot in the 88th minute gave the Red Devils a late victory.

Al Ahly, competing in their seventh tournament, easily defeated Auckland City of New Zealand 3-0 in the lone first-round matchup, but they have yet to achieve their first victory over a European opponent at this level.

Real Madrid is the best team in the world and it is also my childhood team, but Afsha vowed that they would play with everything they had in order to win.

Al Ahly, one of the most successful teams in the world and the most decorated team in Africa, frequently makes it to the tournament’s final four.

The Egyptian giants are in the semi-finals for the third consecutive season and the fifth time overall. The ten-time African winners placed third in 2006, 2020, and 2021.

According to forward Mahmoud Kahraba, Ahly are keen to defeat Real Madrid in order to qualify for the final for the first time after falling short to Bayern Munich in 2020 and Palmeiras in 2021.

“It will be a difficult match against Real Madrid because we are facing the strongest team in the world, but nothing is impossible,” admitted Kahraba.

“Anything is possible and we trust in ourselves. All of our players are experienced men full of determination.”
