How much Anele Mdoda allegedly pays for Alakhe’s school fees

Popular Mzansi radio presenter, Anele Mdoda jumped at the opportunity to take her child, Alakhe, to his first day of school, like many other working mothers. The 947 presenter one-upped that by broadcasting her morning show from his school, Reddam House in Hilderfontein in Gauteng.

Alakhe – an eight-year-old YouTuber and who has a close friendship with Trevor Noah – is in Grade 3 this year.

In a series of tweets, Anele revealed that she had to previously choose between work or the chance to take her child on his first day to school.

But this year, the media darling had the best of both when she broadcast her show from the private school based in Fourways.

Joined by Alakhe’s dad, Anele heaped hugs and kisses on the bubbly little boy.

“Parents know it’s a big deal,” she said in the clip.

It’s no secret that Alakhe goes to one of the most prestigious – and priciest – private schools in Gauteng.

According to the Reddam House site, Anele will be paying close to R150 per annum or around R13 000 per month to send her son to the school.

According to Cap123, these are the Top 3 most expensive schools in Gauteng:

  • Roedean School for Girls – R310,994 pa
  • St John’s College – R304,995 pa
  • St Mary’s – R293,050 pa
