The contract of Permanent Secretary Mooya Lumamba at the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development has been cancelled immediately by President Hakainde Hichilema.
In a statement issued this evening, State House chief communications expert Clayson Hamasaka stated that the termination was made in accordance with Article 92’s and Article 270’s requirements of the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia.
“The President has since thanked Mr. Lumamba for his services rendered to the Government of the Republic of Zambia and wishes him well for the future,” Mr Hamasaka said.
The president removed five district commissioners and the deputy permanent secretary of Luapula Province Royd Mwansa just five days prior to the current development.
Before being sacked, Mr. Mwansa was accused of participating in the shipment of stolen minerals, together with Morton Sikazwe and Robert Mutepuka of the Nchelenge District Commissioners and Mwansabombwe District Commissioner.
