Residents in the Southern province’s Sinazongwe district have urged the authorities to fix the horrendous Maamba-Batoka road.
JETHRO SIKALUNDA, manager of the Maamba Collieries Development Trust, claims that the road need immediate attention.
Because of the poor condition of the road, Mr. SIKALUNDA stated, the company is unable to carry heavy duty equipment for mining activities.
Also, since the road is the only way for trucks to enter the Sinazongwe district, some truck drivers are worried about the delay in construction.
Truck drivers spend up to four hours on the roughly 80-kilometer stretch of road, according to one of the drivers, MISHECK MUNGOSHI.
