The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has seized a property allegedly belonging to former First Lady, Esther Lungu, located in Lusaka’s Ibex Hill area. The property comprised two double-storey flats.

DEC Spokesperson, Allan Tamba, announced on Tuesday that this action followed ongoing investigations into alleged illegal ownership of properties by the former First Lady.

“The DEC, under the Anti-Money Laundering Investigations Unit (AMLIU), has formally seized a property which houses two double-storey flats situated in the Ibex Hill area in Lusaka,” Tamba said.
The seizure was carried out pursuant to Section 71 (1) of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act No. 19 of 2010, according to Tamba.

He stated that the DEC was diligently working to ensure the investigations were conducted professionally and judiciously.
