Demands for Clean Markets from Hamaundu

MAAMBO HAMAUNDU, the Permanent Secretary for Local Government, has urged community leaders to assist vendors in keeping markets tidy.

The announcement coincides with a rise of COVID-19 cases across the nation.

According to Mr. HAMAUNDU, keeping marketplaces and other areas that are prone to COVID-19 instances clean and following the five golden guidelines will assist to slow the rate of increase.

Civic leaders in Lusaka, according to Chinika ward Councillor MASAUSO NGOMA, are already educating vendors about the importance of halting the spread of diseases in marketplaces.

This, according to Mr. NGOMA, follows the mayor of Lusaka, CHILANDO CHITANGALA, ordering that all markets resume enforcing COVID-19 preventative measures.
