Rapper Emtee’s wife and mother of his children, Nicole Chinsamy, has reportedly opened an abuse case against him. This comes after Nicole accused the Manando hitmaker — real name Mthembeni Ndevu — of physically assaulting her on Valentines Day.
Nicole, who shared she is seven months pregnant, made the allegations via an Instagram Live video that Emtee had started on Friday, 3 March. During the Instagram Live, Emtee has an argument with his wife and his mother-in-law. The 30-year-old hip-hop artist asks his mother-in-law why she is in his house. In response, she tells him that she’s there to protect her daughter from him.
Nicole then walks over to the camera, with her cellphone in hand, to show a picture of her bruised and swollen eye due to the alleged assault incident.
“This is what he did to me,” she says. “Show them what you did to me, how you beat me up on Valentine’s Day here’s the proof,” she tells Emtee. Here’s the proof. Beat me up while I’m seven months pregnant,” she adds.
The musician can be heard denying the allegations as he prevents his wife from showing more images from her cellphone. According to anti-women abuse organisation Women for Change, Nicole has pressed charges against Emtee.
“We have been speaking to Nicole’s family since weeks [ago]. The current situation is extremely difficult and unsafe for Nicole and her family, knowing the public standing and power of her husband. A case against Emtee was opened this morning. let’s not protect alleged abusers because they are ‘loved celebrities’. Nicole, we are proud of you for speaking up,” shared the organisation. This is not the first time abuse allegations have rocked the couple’s relationship.

In 2020, Emtee accused Nicole of abusing him. He also claimed that she would often call her family members to assault him. Both mother and daughter took turns, choking me, tryina suffocate me. Now the weight lifting brother is threatening to kill me,” wrote Emtee on Twitter at the time.
“Can I be single please. I’m a man of peace. Somebody please help! She has even called the police on me twice, but I was completely innocent. They even took my weed. She says I hit her but it is the other way around, and she cusses at me,” he said in another tweet. However, Nicole released a statement saying Emtee’s allegations were fabricated and designed to “tarnish” her character. Emtee and Nicole share two sons – Avery, born in 2015 and Logan born in 2018.
