FAZ looks into camping options for U 20 Men

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) said it is considering all possible locations for the Under 20 Men’s National Team camp, with Spain being the top choice.

This is in advance of the AFCON competition that Egypt will host in 2023.

With only one month until the start of the competition, FAZ’s Technical Director LYSON ZULU predicts that the team will likely be tented in Europe to allow for preparation.

In an interview with ZNBC Sports News, ZULU stated that the FA will reveal the team’s destination on Tuesday of the next week following a consultation meeting.

He claimed that the FA has the chance to send the team to Israel, where they would probably play Israeli U-20 teams, Juventus, and Crystal Palace.

ZULU said that the squad has also received a proposal to camp in Egypt.

According to him, the Association wants to capitalize on the expertise the players have gained via participation in a variety of events over the years.

The team will also have access to a local camp and a few friendly matches, according to ZULU.

On February 21, 2023, Zambia’s AFCON campaign will get underway against Benin in group C.
