Germany provides €77 million to Zambia

Zambia has received 77 million euros from Germany for technical assistance from 2023 to 2024.

On Friday of last week, the deal was signed in Berlin, the capital of Germany.

Zambia will gain from the financing in areas including water, agriculture, sound financial management, nutrition, and energy.

FELIX NKULUKUSA, Secretary to the Treasury of Zambia, and ALOIS SCHNEIDER, Head of Division Southern Africa at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, signed on behalf of their respective countries.

36 million euros are allocated for technical collaboration projects and 41 million euros are allocated for financial cooperation initiatives.

After the signing ceremony, Mr. Schneider assured Zambia that Germany will continue to be a dependable partner.

Additionally, Mr. Nkulukusa gave the Federal Government of Germany his word that Zambia will benefit from the financial support provided.

This is in accordance with a statement made to ZNBC News by LUBINDA KASHEWE, First Secretary Press at the Zambian Embassy in Germany.
