MUSA MWENYE, the board chair of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), claims that the government has demonstrated political commitment to improving the commission’s functioning.
According to Mr. MWENYE, the commission has recently experienced severe operational issues as a result of the significant funding cut.
According to him, the ACC Headquarters only had four operating vehicles, which made it challenging for it to carry out some of its tasks.
According to Mr. MWENYE, the Commission now has more than 40 cars as a result of the government investing over K18 million to improve its operations.
According to him, the government’s ongoing support and investment will help to speed up case investigations within a given time limit.
According to Mr. MWENYE, the commission would now be able to complete some cases within 90 days as authorized by President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA.
According to Mr. MWENYE, the commission has so far made outstanding progress in looking into some cases.
