Police have continued to detain “junkies,” most recently detaining 193 suspects at the Inter-city bus terminal and nearby areas in Lusaka.
Four female suspects between the ages of 17 and 35 are among the group.
According to police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale, the operation took place between last night at 20:00 and today at 4:00.
“Police conducted an operation at Lusaka Inter-city Bus Terminus and surrounding areas where 193 people suspected to be ‘junkies’ were arrested,” he said.
He said that the suspects are all detained in Police custody awaiting to be formally charged with various offences.
“Management at Lusaka Inter-city Bus Terminus have been complaining to Police about the attacks and harassment to the traveling public by the ‘junkies’,” he said.
