Red Arrows official Arrested for Assaulting MUZA goalkeeper

Police have detained a member of the RED Arrows for reportedly attacking MUZA goalie Monga Ndala on Saturday during a Super League game at Nkoloma Stadium.

On the said day, chaos resulted from Ndala supposedly being struck by Kachimbe Japeni, who has since been apprehended, and the League game between Arrows and MUZA was called off.

“Police are holding a 44-year-old man identified as Kachimbe Japeni for the offense of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm. He is alleged to have assaulted a Goalkeeper and a Coach for Maestro United Football Club identified as Moonga Ndala aged 29 and Enerst Malambo aged 52 respectively. They are all from Mazabuka District,” Police debut spokesperson Danny Mwale said.

During the game between Red Arrows and Maestro United Football Clubs (MUZA), the two were walking from the locker room to the field at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka when the event happened.

“It is alleged that one of the Security Personnel for Red Arrows Football Club identified as Kachimbe Japeni attacked the Goalkeeper of the visiting team by beating and pouring unknown substance on his face. The suspect is also alleged to have beaten the visiting team Coach.

“The victims sustained general body pains and medical Report forms were issued for them to seek medical attention. Fits are believed to have been used in the act. The container with some remains of the unknown substance was picked by police to help with investigations,” Mwale said.
