Two perish in a car collision on the road

Sad to say, a father from Chisamba will never be able to forgive himself for allegedly driving a Mitsubishi Canter too fast, which caused it to flip over and kill his two kids, ages 21 and 23.

Sipi Muza and Chamu Muza are believed to have perished instantly as a result of Martin Muza losing control of the car.

Four other passengers, including the driver miraculously avoided injury, while one other passenger, John Chitondo, suffered injuries and was sent to Liteta district hospital.

According to David Chileshe, the commissioner of the Central Province police, who verified the tragic news to Mwebantu, the fatal traffic accident occurred on Monday at around 15:30 in the Chisamba district.

“Two passengers identified as Mr Chamu Muza and Mr Sipi Muza aged 21 and 23 respectively died on the spot in an accident involving a Mitsubishi Canter Registration number BAZ 790. The accident happened when the driver identified as Mr Martin Muza lost control of the vehicle and overturned due to excessive speed. The vehicle was carrying seven passengers seated on top of bags of fertilizer. Another passenger MrJohn Chitondo sustained injuries and is admitted to Liteta Hospital while the driver and the rest of the passangers escaped unhurt,” he said.

Mr Chileshe said the driver was charged with the offense of causing death by dangerous driving and will appear in court soon.
