ZAMBEEF Chief Executive Officer FAITH MUKUTU claims that the business is well-positioned to expand its trading area and increase its production capacity.
This comes after its previously announced investment of $100 million USD.
Value addition is essential to feeding the country and the region, Ms. MUKUTU stated in remarks she made while leading a group of directors at the Mpongwe farms on the Copperbelt.
And Ms. MUKUTU reported that Mpongwe farms capacity expansion work had begun.
The projects include the construction of a new Flour milling facility, an additional 5,000 hectares of cultivable land, and a water reticulation system.
More than 7,000 people are employed at ZAMBEEF, the largest vertically integrated agro-processing business in Zambia.
