Zambia Receives More Than 100 Gold Medals

For the first time ever, Zambia has amassed more than 100 gold medals across a variety of sports in a single year.

The nation has won 105 gold, 61 silver, and 76 bronze medals, for a total of 242 medals in 2022, according to Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU.

According to NKANDU, the nation would like the athletes competing in the Region 5 Games in Malawi to bring home more medals and trophies for their nation.

The Minister remarked, “Government is motivated to continue financing whenever teams return with medals & trophies,” as he accepted medals from the Strongman & Handball teams.

Without assistance from the ministry, according to PATTERSON MUZONDIWA, president of the Zambia Strongman Association, it would not be possible to send many athletes. He also stated that the team would keep working hard to win on the biggest stage.

Additionally, Zambia will represent the continent at the International Handball Federation competition in Congo Brazzaville, which begins on December 12, according to BWALYA BANDA, the president of the Handball Association of Zambia.
