ZRA Issue 6,054 Ultimatums To Taxpayers

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has given 6,054 taxpayers a deadline of 14 days to provide an explanation for why they failed to include sales invoices for goods provided to their clients on their Value Added Tax (VAT) filings.

According to OLIVER NZALA, the ZRA Corporate Communications Manager, this led to input VAT claims by the consumers being unsupported by the equivalent output VAT.

When the Authority ran the data matching program for the time period of December 2019 to August 2022, according to Mr. NZALA, it noticed this.

In an interview, he revealed to ZNBC News that the Authority had sent emails to Those who had failed the data matching verification exercise in order to correct the error.
