20-year-old woman Violated whilst in police custody

A Community Crime Prevention Officer (CCPU) is accused of abusing a 20-year-old Kalulushi resident while she was being held at a police station.

Frederick Musendeka, who was reported to have followed the victim to her holding cell after she was taken into custody at around 01:30, is suspected of abusing her sexually while she was in custody.

The 20-year-old victim is thought to have gone to a birthday celebration with others and, on the way home, the private car they were in opted to drop them off halfway from home, forcing her to walk, which resulted in her being detained by the CCPU.

The rape case happened yesterday at or about 2:00 a.m. inside the Chibuluma police station, according to Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba.

“On  their way to Chibote, two CCPU officers followed them but only managed to apprehend the complainant and took her to the police post where she was detained. After seven minutes, Frederick musendeka Kapasa aged 28 ,one of the CCPU officers who apprehended her followed the victim and forced to have canal knowledge with him which made her sustain painful private parts and stomach pains,” he said.

He added that the victim was issued a medical report form and the suspect detained in custody waiting for doctor’s findings.
