A 49-year-old man is accused of defiling a 10-year-old girl in the Kawambwa district after bringing her to his house where he covered her mouth with his pants and had sex with her.
The young person who complained of bruising and sore private parts was defiled on Monday at 19:30, and the incident was reported to the police yesterday.
The victim was brought to the home of Mogrey Ngoma, who is presently being held by the police, so that she might prepare nshima for him, according to Gloria Mulele, the commanding officer of Luapula province.
After they had done eating, Mr. Ngoma, according to Ms. Mulele, had sex with the girl.
“The victim went to a drinking place where her mother was drinking beer and Mr Ngoma was also there drinking. Later Mr Ngoma took the victim to his house so that she could cook nshima for him then after the victim cooked and ate together he had carnal knowledge of the victim,”she said.
She said the victim’s mouth was covered by a pair of pants, preventing her from screaming for help.
According to Ms. Mulele, Mr. Ngoma’s sister called him while he was still in the act, and when he answered the phone, she could hear that someone was home.
