Thuso Mbedu joining Miss SA 2023 judging panel

South African-born actress Thuso Mbedu will be one of the judges at the Miss South Africa 2023 finale held at SunBet Arena at Time Square in Pretoria on Sunday 13 August, L’Oréal Paris announced.

The actress who is a L’Oréal Paris Sub-Saharan Ambassador is set to be one of the judges on the Miss SA 2023 judging panel. The Miss SA finale will be held at SunBet Arena at Time Square in Pretoria on Sunday 13 August.

Mbedu, in her role as judge, will bring her unique perspective and experiences to the competition, encouraging the contestants to embrace their individuality and walk confidently.

According to a press release from L’Oréal Paris, her presence will inspire the finalists to focus not only on their external beauty but also on their inner strength and resilience.

“We are honoured to have the L’Oréal Paris Sub-Saharan Ambassador Thuso Mbedu join the Miss South Africa 2023 judging panel,” said Ayanda Mackay, Marketing Manager for L’Oréal Paris Skin and Hair.

“This partnership allows us to support and uplift women as they redefine what it means to be a beauty queen. We believe that when women are empowered, they can achieve anything they set their minds to, and we are thrilled to be a part of this incredible platform,” she continued.

L’Oréal Paris announced Mbedu as an ambassador in May.

“We are thrilled to announce the talented South African actress @Thuso.Mbedu as a new brand ambassador and spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris in the Sub-Saharan Africa region,” read the post.

American actress Viola Davis took to the comments section to congratulate the South African-born actress.

“THUSOOOO!!!!!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Welcome to the family!!!!! Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️,” she wrote.
