MUTALE NALUMANGO, vice president, has urged lawmakers to refrain from frightening the country with death figures from whatever reason.
Allegations of deaths, according to Ms. NALUMANGO, must be thoroughly proven before being publicized.
She was responding to BRENDA NYIRENDA, a LUNDAZI member of parliament, who claimed that some patients in her district were dying owing to a lack of power since it was difficult for them to get surgery.
This occurred during the National Assembly’s Vice President’s Question Period.
According to Ms. NALUMANGO, the government is working to connect the national grid to LUNDAZI and other areas that lack access to energy.
In the meantime, Mrs. NALUMANGO claims hospitals in some areas without electricity must purchase generators to improve operations.
