CARY FOWLER, the United States’ special envoy for global food security, expressed optimism that Zambia will achieve its goals for nutrition and food security.

According to Dr. FOWLER, she is in Zambia with her team to examine the country’s prospects for agricultural output and its initiatives to become the region’s main source of food.

The team is evaluating the effects of the Ukraine war in Africa, according to USAID’s Global Food Crisis Coordinator Bureau for Food Resilience and Food Security Acting Assistant to the Administrator DINA ESPOSITO.

When the two made Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO a courtesy call in Lusaka today, they were conversing.

As for Zambia being chosen as one of the pilot nations for the new agriculture program, Mrs. NALUMANGO expressed her happiness.

She stated that in light of climate change, Zambia is prepared to discuss food and nutrition-related challenges and come up with joint solutions.

Mrs. NALUMANGO expressed her gratitude to USAID for supporting the local school feeding program and expanding nutrition.

Speaking at the same ceremony, MICHAEL GONZALES, the US ambassador to Zambia, said the team also wants to know how his nation can assist Zambia in attaining inclusive economic growth and better living conditions for its population.
