To allow Zambia and other African nations to fulfill their Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) commitments, the government has urged for regular and predictable financial flows to those nations.
This will reduce the susceptibility of African economies to climatic shocks, according to JOHN MSIMUKO, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Green Economy & Environment.
Mr. MSIMUKO made this statement while speaking at the ongoing Africa Knowledge Exchange conference being held in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire by the Climate Investment Funds (CIF).
The Permanent Secretary emphasized the harm that climatic shocks do to Zambia’s development objectives and the government’s efforts to deal with the problem.
A National Green Growth Plan is being produced, according to Mr. MSIMUKO, in addition to the high-level policy documents, to guide the nation toward a fully-fledged low-carbon and socially inclusive green economy within the next few years.
