Drunk truck driver attacked two police officers

A drunk truck driver attacked two police officers, who were hospitalized as a result.

In the Copperbelt area of Mpongwe, two police officers are fighting for their life after being attacked by a drunk truck driver.

The two officers are thought to have been investigating a fertilizer theft case when their attacker, Anthony Kasumpabuwe, 30, of Lusaka’s Lilanda Township, allegedly assaulted them with cement blocks and plows.

The victims suffered many head wounds, swollen faces, and generalized bodily aches.

According to Copperbelt commanding officer Peacewell Mweemba, at around 4:30 a.m., the god is god store in the Mpongwe commercial area got a report of an assault on police officers.

He said that Fester Mwitanti, a security guard at a termite business, had reported the incident on behalf of Inspector Kasase Lewis and Inspector Yorum Chama, two state police officers who had been allegedly assaulted by a truck driver.
